Getting
Started
in HO Scale
Racing
|
|
Interested?
|
|
If
you live
in the Denver area and want to get started (or re-introduced) in HO
scale
racing, MHOSA welcomes you! To get going, the following should be
helpful. |
|
Where
to race
|
|
MHOSA
holds races every
other Thursday. Check the schedule on MHOSA's home
page, or contact Scott
Johnson
or Roger Thompson for
other
beginner races. |
|
What
you need
|
|
You may
have your own cars.
Tyco, AFX, Lifelike, and other brand cars can all be raced in the
beginner
"Box Stock" class. Stock Night class races races Patriot
or Storm cars from Wizzard.
Patriot and Storm cars may be purchased from Adventure Cycling or ordered from Wizzard
for about
$35. Tires and gear upgrades may be necessary to be competitive.
Unlike home
race tracks,
MHOSA sanctioned race tracks are set up so that each racer can use
their
own controller. If you are a beginner, you may barrow a
controller.
