May 2007
-- MHOSA, in conjunction with Johnny Barvik and Adventure Cycling,
proposes to host a future endurance race to be sanctioned by the Race
Directors of the 24 Hours at Les Bois.
MHOSA stands ready to set the standard for a national/international HO
event. The proposed MHOSA venue would provide
a commercial quality routed continuous rail track to support six
teams. The final host site has not been decided, but will
likely be selected from a Denver area survey of hotels which can
provide a banquet room with ample pit tables and chairs, lighting, and
other ammenities. Teams will naturally be able to retreat to
their respective rooms during the race if necessary for rest and
refreshment.
MHOSA is prepared to enter up to three teams, but will limit its
participation to one team in favor or five out-of-town teams.
Teams from Boise, the Midwestern U.S., England, Japan and Denver have
been identified as potential participants.
The proposed track (Scorpion, by Buck) is a
defacto standard in HO racing, especially the AFX/Super G+/G3 racing
world. The track layout is time-tested, easy to marshall, and has
six lanes to support expansion of the "Les Bois" racing legacy to six
teams.

The track has an AC to DC 30 amp 18 volt power
supply with BSRT's "Lane Master" professional lap timing and counting
system. Rotation is 'straight' left to right and the track runs
clockwise.
MHOSA is experienced in both Endurance racing
(2nd 24 Hours at Les Bois) and at hosting national race events (Interstate HO Challenge) as well as having
participated in many national HO championship events; HOPRA, UFHORA,
and Western States.
MHOSA and its potential endurace teams, eagerly
await candidicy and official sanctioning process.
