Congratulations to Team Shearmanator's Captain Sam Shearman, Phil
Malone, Aaron Shearman, and Jarom Shearman for winning The 2nd 24 Hours
at Les Bois, May 4-5, 2007 at the Shearmanator Raceway in Boise, Idaho.
The all-Boise Team Shearmanator set a new 24-Hour
lap record in
winning the Race with 10,854 laps--184 laps better than the previous
record. This is Jarom's sixth victory out of the twelve endurance
Races we have heldl, and it is Sam, Phil, and Aaron's fourth
victories. Sam, Phil, and Aaron became only the third,
fourth, and
fifth Drivers to repeat as Champions. Aaron also tied the
single-segment lap record on the Green Lane with 504 laps in Segment
7. A great victory for Team Shearmanator.
B.B.S. Racing for England, comprising of Captain
Peter Baldock, Tony
Baldock, Steve Bryan, and Nigel Sykes, took second place with 10,613
laps. The all-England Team came back to Boise with the experience
of
2005's The 24 Hours at Les Bois and a great running car to wrestle
second place from Team Jaguar in the closing hours. Tony Baldock
surpassed the 500-lap total on the Green Lane as well in Segment 4 with
502 laps, and was over 460 laps in each of the six Segments he drove on
Green. Steve Bryan won the Best Turn Marshal Award and Peter
Baldock
won the Best Sportsman Award sponsored by Team MHOSA.
Congratulations
on a great Race, B.B.S. Racing for England.
Team Jaguar, with Captain Mike Pope, Brady
Fuller, Ryan Hansen, and
Shaun Lee, took third place with 10,342 laps. Mike set a new
single-segment lap record on the Yellow Lane with 479 laps, while
"rookie" Shaun Lee drove the Blue Lane an average of over 400 laps per
Segment in his first Race. Brady Fuller kept Team Jaguar in the
hunt
with his usual expert driving on all four Lanes, and "Fly'n" Ryan
Hansen, after a 2-year absence from the Shearmanator Raceway, showed
that he had not lost any talent for driving the difficult Red
Lane.
Congratulations, Team Jaguar.
Team MHOSA, with
Captain Roger Thompson, Chris Beyers, Butch Bowden,
and Danny Johnson, took fourth place with 9,139 laps. This total
is
deceiving based upon the amount of time the Team spent in the pits
working on a very finicky TYCO racecar. When the car was on the
Track,
however, these drivers from Denver, Colorado showed their skills.
Team
MHOSA won the final four hours of the Race with 1800 laps as Roger
Thompson's mechanical skills brought the car into its own. Butch
Bowden broke the existing Rookie single-segment lap record on the
Yellow Lane of 424 laps in Segment 7 with 435 laps, only to break that
mark in Segment 15 with 438 laps, and finally set the total even higher
in Segment 23 with 453 laps. Chris Beyers won Segment 18 for Team
MHOSA on Green, and Danny Johnson proved to be a most difficult Driver
to pass while racing against him on Blue. Despite the car
difficulties, the all-"rookie" Team MHOSA served notice that with
a
good running car they were as good as any other Team on the Track and
we were happy to have them here in Boise for the Race.
A more in-depth Race Report will follow in the
coming weeks.
Congratulations to all Drivers and those who helped make The 2nd 24
Hours at Les Bois a great success.
