Background
Legacy Too is very appropriately
named. The original 4x16' Tyco
version dates back to the 1980s and was previously owned by Tim Warner,
Butch Bowden, and Mark Herrold. It has also been sanctioned by
CHOPRA
and appeared at the 1994 Nationals in Denver. Legacy - Walt
Pierce purchased the
track in 1999 and named it Legacy. Legacy 20 - In 2000 the
track was stretched by adding a four foot middle section. The
table
was reconstructed to include new drivers' stations, sturdier
construction,
and lowered for better marshalling and driver visibility. Legacy
Too - In 2003 Legacy got a
serious upgrade. The track itself was replaced with MaxTrax but
the layout still resembles the original version of the track.

Set-up
Rail height :
0.014" +/- 0.002. Thick MaxTrax rail provides heavy downforce.
Gears: high gear
ratio helps achieve the much needed speed for the large radius curve
long straight-away combination.
Shoe
tension: high downforce allows for heavy shoe tension without
giving up handling.

Tire sizes
are for RO class and will vary somewhat depending on car class (magnet
strength), chassis
wear, and firmness of tires.
Super Stock:
Because of the downforce of the MaxTrax, the chassis should
not touch the rails or only slightly touch the rails to maximize
handling and
speed.
Restricted Open:
Because of the downforce of the MaxTrax, overheating
is a common problem. Care should be taken to ensure that the chassis is
not set
too close to the track rails.
